Events Resulting From Hurricane 'Katrina'
Before I get any further with this letter, I wanted to thank those of you who had responded to my last message concerning the events that left the 'gulf states' in total chaos! :o(
Your thoughts, concerns and comments were very endearing and I've responded to every individual who wrote to me! Thank you . . . Yes, you'll find there is a 'real' person behind this newsletter! :o)
Each and every email I receive from my readers gets a personal response from me! Sure - it takes time - but it's worth the time spent with 'real' people just like you!

I've also included a few suggestions that are important when an event of this magnitude occurs. Many people can be taken advantage of and that's unacceptable!
Here are my thoughts . . .
This past week we have all seen or sadly experienced an event that's truly worse than what we anticipated!
For those of us who live in the States and those of you who've had the chance of seeing this on t.v. abroad, you must realize by now that many, many family members are still unaccounted for.
My deepest thoughts and sympathy's are with them.
I'm really ashamed/embarrassed by some of the things that have beengoing on as a result of this tragic event.
It's so true that the 'best' and 'worst' of humankind comes out from events like these . . . and it's so terrible to see the bad things happen such as the looting, violence, bad mouthing and other unspeakable things . . .
Normally, I don't write about such things as this, but this is a situation where 'it's the time and place.'
It's time to speak up about some of the things that are really wrong and what will undoubtedly come about!
It's a fact, many 'wolves in sheep's clothing' will appear in the coming days and weeks. Be cautious and observe closely some of the information you get concerning the 'giving' of help.
I've seen and heard of many people who have been the 'prey' of such behavior, so I recommend a few things in order that you may not be taken advantage of as well.

I'm sure many of us have thought and wondered what took so long to get aid to those in need . . . well - that's surely a topic that will be talked about and hopefully decisions can be made to prevent this from happening again. However, efforts are being made - N-o-w -to bringing the proper assistance where needed.
I can imagine that many of us feel that we're perhaps not in a position to make 'real' change happen. There is no reason to believe that . . . !
That thought is wrong!

In a way - the gulf states have experienced their own Tsunami - you simply have to look at the pictures and be reminded of the past . . .
